1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the relationship between you (“Donor,” “you,” or “your”) and Lancashire Youth Challenge (“Charity,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) regarding any donations made to the Charity. By making a donation, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
2. About Us
Lancashire Youth Challenge is a registered charity in England and Wales with the charity number 1163469. Our mission is to empower and support young people in Lancashire through various challenges and activities that build resilience, confidence, and skills.
3. Donations
3.1 Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to make a donation. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or guardian.
3.2 Methods of Donation: Donations can be made through our website, by bank transfer, by cheque, or by any other method we may specify from time to time.
3.3 Currency: All donations must be made in GBP (£) unless otherwise specified.
3.4 Donation Amount: There is no minimum or maximum amount for donations unless otherwise specified. However, for certain campaigns or projects, we may set minimum donation amounts.
3.5 Allocation of Funds: We will use your donation at our discretion but within our stated charitable objectives. If you would like your donation to be allocated to a specific project or purpose, please indicate this at the time of donation. While we will endeavour to honour such requests, we cannot guarantee that funds will be used in a particular manner.
4. Legal Compliance and Restrictions
4.1 Anti-Money Laundering: All donations must comply with the UK’s anti-money laundering regulations. We may need to verify your identity and the source of funds if the donation exceeds a certain amount or if we have reasonable grounds to suspect that the donation may not comply with the law.
4.2 Tax Relief and Gift Aid: If you are a UK taxpayer, your donation may be eligible for Gift Aid. This allows us to claim an additional 25p for every £1 donated at no extra cost to you. To enable us to claim Gift Aid, you must complete a Gift Aid declaration confirming that you are a UK taxpayer and have paid at least as much Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax as we will claim on your donation(s) in the tax year.
4.3 Refunds: Donations are generally non-refundable. However, if you believe that a donation was made in error, please contact us within 14 days, and we will consider refunding the donation at our discretion.
4.4 Use of Funds: Lancashire Youth Challenge will utilize the funds in line with our charitable objectives and within the scope of UK charity law.
5. Privacy and Data Protection
5.1 Personal Information: We collect personal information from donors to process donations and comply with legal obligations. This information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be found on our website.
5.2 Data Sharing: We will not share your personal data with third parties except where required by law, for processing payments, or for other legitimate purposes as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
6. Liability
6.1 Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lancashire Youth Challenge excludes all liability for any loss or damage that you or others may suffer as a result of making a donation.
6.2 No Guarantee: We do not guarantee that your donation will be used in any specific way or that any particular outcome will be achieved from your donation.
7. Changes to the Terms
Lancashire Youth Challenge reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and the revised Terms will apply to all donations made after the date of publication.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
